Outreach, GMU Early Identification Program
Graduate Research Assistants Emily Swann and Vibhavari Gadhe, under the guidance of Professor Scafide, delivered an enlightening lecture on bruise detection research to high school students in the "Introduction to Health Sciences" class as part of the Early Identification Program (EIP) at George Mason University. During the session, students learned about the definition of a bruise and the critical importance of detecting it. Emily and Vibhavari also introduced the concept of ALS (Alternate Light Source) and explained how it plays a vital role in identifying bruises that might not be visible to the naked eye.
